Meeting God as Love in Your Prayer Group
Part 2 of 5: Introduction to CFO Prayer
PLAN FOR YOUR GROUP
Now that the members of your prayer group have become acquainted with each other, let’s become more acquainted with God who is Love. Here is one way to do this at your meetings.
Read a portion from the teachings below.
Spend 5-15 minutes in silence thinking about God’s Love.
Out of this quiet time will come prayers and
prayer requests.
Share what comes to you in the silence.
Pray for each other.
Close with thanksgiving for God’s love.
TEACHINGS ON GOD’s LOVE
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love one for another. John 13:35
A disciple is a disciplined person–one who is in training to think or perform in a certain desirable way. If we love one another in the way that Jesus loves us it means
1. We love unselfishly.
2. We are willing to lay down our life for another.
3. We see others through Jesus' eyes: full of love.
4. We love people unconditionally,regardless of their behaviour.

And we receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him. And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. 1John 3:22,23
Perfect Love, obedience to the laws laid down by Jesus, and answered prayer go together.
And this is the confidence which we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have what we asked of him. I John 5:14-15
PRAYER GROUP HELPS
Those prayers that are prayed in love, with true
integrity are the prayers that are answered and which glorify God.
