Knowing God Thru Forgiveness
Part 3 of a 5 Piece Series on Prayer Groups
PLAN FOR YOUR GROUP
You have spent several weeks thinking about God's love and praying out of that love. Let's begin now to look at God's forgiveness and it's meaning for our lives. Here is one way to do this at your meetings:
TEACHINGS ON FORGIVENESS
Read a portion of the teaching below.
Spend 5-15 minutes in silence thinking about Gods forgiveness. Out of this quiet time will come prayer and prayer requests.
Share what comes to you in the silence.
Pray for each other.
Close with thanksgiving for God's forgiveness.
Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Colossians 3:13
So I tell you whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:24-25
So when you are offering your gift at the altar, if you remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift. Matthew 5:23-24
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another as God in Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32
And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors. Matthew 6:12
